Incorporated in 1919 by Fred C. Smith, who had been head salesman for the Heintz Art Metal Shop. Smith hired a cadre of Heintz craftsmen and specialized in sterling on bronze work and high quality desk sets and office appointments. After Fred C. Smith's retirement in 1955, the company was acquired by William K. Donaldson and John F. Reid.
